EARBUD INNOVATION PAYS OFF IN FUNDING FOR CLUB MEMBER'S COMPANY
This just in from fellow Wharton alum Steve Lebischak:
Our Kickstarter (campaign is off to a great start. We exceeded our $200,000 goal by 150% with two weeks to go. We are offering several models that are appealing to backers ranging from smartphone listeners to the most discerning musicians and audiophiles.
Our patented innovations allow listeners to turn down the volume and protect their hearing while maintaining the same perceived loudness with richer sound. The secret is adding a second eardrum that absorbs the harmful aspects of sound that cause you to overdrive the volume and distort the sound.
Last year the company was a Top 5 finisher in the Wall Street Journal Startup of the Year competition and was a finalist in D.C.’s 1776 Challenge Cup. The company benefited from National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health research and was recently awarded a grant along with Vanderbilt University to re-invent hearing protection.
As the Chairman at Aero-X Golf, we just signed a licensing agreement with Dick’s Sporting Goods who will add our self-correcting ingredient technology into their golf balls with sales starting in April.
