  • In Mayor, Mayor Nutter draws on his lifetime of experience in politics (he served 15 years in the Philadelphia City Council before serving two terms as the city’s mayor) to highlight the important work beingmichael-nutter_mayor-book-3-200_ done at the local level and to show how progressive and effective change can be made, not just in Philadelphia, but in cities across the country.
  • Mayor Nutter left public office on January 4, 2016, and shortly thereafter, accepted an appointment to the Homeland Security Advisory Council and a professorial position at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He is also currently serving as a political commentator for CNN.
  • This event will feature a discussion with the author, an audience question-and-answer session, and a book signing.
  • Copies of the book can be purchased at the event. No outside books or memorabilia are permitted.

Proceeds from this event benefit the non-profit affiliate of the Club, The National Press Club Journalism Institute, which offers innovative, practical training to journalists and communications professionals working in a rapidly-changing media environment.
