WDC Innovation Summit Series: Innovating for Supply Chain Resilience

Wharton DC Innovation Summit session featuring some of top supply chain leaders in U.S., including Jonathan Byrnes, MIT, & Cyndi Lago, VP Supply Chain, Capgemini. Wharton Club Members, guests, public invited

“In the first phase of Covid-19, ‘Lockdown,’ most of the opportunities have been extracted. In the second phase, which I’m calling ‘Transition,’ to be huge for people if they can figure out where they want to play and how to position themselves to actually integrate through the opportunities which will lie there.” – Stephen Corbett, Founder, Corbett Consulting

  • The onset of COVID-19 caused disruptions in the supply chains of many companies, especially since part or all of their supply chains were located in China where the pandemic originated. Consequently, the panel aims to address this major COVID-19 related business disruption by focusing on the need for innovations to make supply chains more resilient.
  • Panelists will begin by examining the challenges created by the pandemic for the functioning and management of supply chains and then explore how innovations using technologies such as AI, 3D printing, robotics/automation and advanced manufacturing could improve the resilience of supply chains.
  • As a result, attending this session will give entrepreneurs and businesses an understanding of the best opportunities that COVID-19 has created for them to develop innovations that could improve supply chain resiliency.
