Optimal Networks Recognized by The Alliance for Workplace Excellence
Founded by Wharton alum, Heinan Landa, who is also the Club's VP for our Leads Council and our CTO, Optimal Networks was recognized by The Alliance for Workplace Excellence with their 2008 Workplace Excellence Award. Optimal, one of only 62 companies honored with this award, was chosen as a visionary employer for their efforts in creating an environment in which employees experience personal and professional fulfillment. Kathleen L. Mattis (WGS’84), CFO of Neuronascent, Inc. (www.neuronascent.com), announces that her early stage drug disocvery company has landed their first angel investor group. The Company’s novel therapeutics, which are based on the science of neurogenesis and target Alzheimer’s disease, depression and ischemia, are in preclinical testing. Animal study results indicate a reversal of cognitive loss in aged mice to young levels. The Company owns all intellectual property rights.

Joe Semo (Wh. ‘73), Principal of the Semo Law Group (Washington, DC), will be a panelist on the subject of “The New World of Compensation Committees,” at the Annual Boardroom Summit cosponsored by Corporate Board Member Magazine and The New York Stock Exchange. The Annual Boardroom Summit is being held at the Grand Hyatt, New York, NY, on October 14-14, 2008.

Jeffrey Adler, PRC, President of Centrac DC, was just a featured speaker at the American Marketing Association's Annual Marketing Research Conference. The title of the session was “The No Fly Zone: Virtual “Venues” for Conducting Qualitative Research.”

Virtual “venues” for conducting qualitative research are fast becoming an accepted means of gathering data, thanks to an increase in researcher and consumer comfort/familiarity, acceptance and use of internet technology. While there will always be a place for in-person qualitative research, online technologies facilitate a variety of interaction that is not generally possible in traditional settings, leading to a more robust experience, and richer data. The session discussed the 5 Ws (Who, What, When, Where, Why) and how to conduct virtual qualitative research.
