Donald J. Trump started his business career in an office he shared with his father, Fred, in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. He worked with his father for five years, where they were busy making deals together. Mr. Trump has stated, “My father was my mentor and I learned a tremendous amount about every aspect of the construction industry from him.” Likewise, Fred C. Trump often stated that “some of my best deals were made by my son, Donald….everything he touches turns to gold.” Mr. Trump then entered the very different world of Manhattan real estate.

In New York City, the Trump signature is synonymous with the most prestigious of addresses. Among them is the world-renowned Fifth Avenue skyscraper, Trump Tower. Luxury residential buildings include Trump World Tower at the United Nations Plaza, Trump Park Avenue at 59th Street and Park Avenue, Trump Place on the Hudson River, and Trump Palace. Mr. Trump is also known as a world-class golf course developer, with award-winning courses in New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles (Trump National Golf Clubs), Palm Beach (Trump International Golf Club), Canouan Island in the Grenadines and one in development in Aberdeen, Scotland (Trump International Golf Links), as well as Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Mr. Trump is an avid golfer and his passion is evident in the spectacular courses he has developed and continues to develop worldwide. His latest acquisitions are Trump National Golf Club, Colts Neck, N.J, and Trump National Golf Club, Washington, D.C. which fronts the Potomac River for three miles.

In January of 2004, Mr. Trump joined forces with Mark Burnett Productions and NBC to produce and star in the television reality show, The Apprentice. The show quickly became #1 on television and is currently in its tenth season. Mr. Trump’s production company, Trump Productions, is based in Los Angeles. Jennifer Simpson is a Managing Director at The Gladstone Companies, a family of publicly traded investment funds based in McLean, Virginia where she has led various efforts to differentiate the firm. The firm manages four public companies listed on the NASDAQ exchange – GLAD, GOOD, GAIN and LAND, as well as privately held funds.
While she currently focuses her time partnering with private equity investors in New York, over the past seven years, Jennifer instituted an annual CEO forum to bring together leaders of their portfolio companies, upgraded the proprietary risk rating model for evaluating risk, and has developed standardized ways of evaluating investment opportunities and building value creation plans. She was also tapped as Managing Principal of the firm’s broker dealer activities, Gladstone Securities. She is also co-founder of the DC Chapter of WAVE (Women’s Association of Venture Equity) and is on the national board.

Jennifer’s professional passions are in strategic planning and leading teams in the execution of a market-driven mission. She attended Wharton (’94) on a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship, where she was Battalion Commander of the unit (and airborne-qualified), President of Wharton Women and a member of a sorority. She was in her glory during her first military assignment at Fort Lewis, Washington, as the Platoon Leader of an ambulance platoon of medics supporting an Armor Brigade of soldiers.

After graduating from The Weatherhead School of Management (CWRU, ’99), Jennifer joined National City Bank in Cleveland in their corporate leadership development program, landing in the leveraged finance group and then being promoted to Chief Credit Officer for the bank’s $4.7 billion small business portfolio during the bank’s Best-In-Class initiative. She also led a regional team of small business bankers and spent time at the private equity firm, Morgenthaler Partners, arranging debt financing for their leveraged buyouts.

Jennifer is the Vice Chair of the Thomas Jefferson HS for Science & Technology Partnership Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising engagement and funds for the advancement of STEM education. She was instrumental in professionalizing the organization with several key hires, oversight of strategic planning for their $8 million capital campaign and guidance in high impact international partnerships. She also coached two award winning First Lego League teams of 8th graders on their innovation projects.

Jennifer lives in McLean with her two teenage sons and wants to get back to city living someday. Connor is studying neuroscience at TJ High School, writes science fiction novels and runs on the cross-country team. Miles plays percussion in the marching band and likes to build and design things. For fun, Jennifer listens to great music, plays tennis, runs, skis, gardens, analyzes books with her book club and writes a blog on LinkedIn about leadership and life. She has ridden her bike along Spain’s Costa Brava and through Glacier & Yellowstone National Parks.

Mr. S.A. Ibrahim, CEO and Director, Radian Group, Inc. (NYSE: RDN)

S.A. Ibrahim is chief executive officer of Radian Group Inc. (NYSE: RDN), based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Radian is one of the largest private mortgage insurers of U.S. residential mortgages, with a core focus of protecting mortgage lenders from default-related losses. Radian has also provided financial guaranty insurance and currently maintains a sizable insured portfolio of municipal bonds and structured finance transactions. Through its business lines, S.A. IbrahimRadian has managed a total credit exposure in excess of $150 billion.

Under Mr. Ibrahim’s leadership, Radian has emerged, from one of the worst economic and housing related downturns, as a market leader. Since 2007, Radian has doubled its private mortgage insurance market share and written more than $100 billion of high-quality new business.

Prior to joining Radian, Mr. Ibrahim was the CEO of GreenPoint Mortgage Funding based in Novato, California. Under his leadership, GreenPoint Mortgage transformed itself from a small mortgage originator to one of the leading U.S. mortgage originators.

Mr. Ibrahim has served on various boards, including the Fannie Mae National Advisory Board and the Mortgage Bankers Association Board of Governors. Currently, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the Institute of International Education in New York, the Wharton Graduate Executive Board, the Academy of the University of Pennsylvania, the Inter Faith Youth Core, Chicago, the Philadelphia Anti Defamation League, the Auburn (Presbyterian) Seminary, New York and the Center of Interreligious Understanding.

Mr. Ibrahim holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania and a BE in Engineering from Osmania University in India.

  • Ron Dermer, W'93, Israel's Ambassador to the United States
  • ​ Ron Dermer was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida.  He earned a degree in Finance and Management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University.  For three years, he was a columnist for the Jerusalem Post.  

    In 2004, Ron co-authored with Natan Sharansky the best-selling book, The Case For Democracy: The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror, which has been translated into ten languages. From 2005-2008, Ron served as Israel's Minister of Economic Affairs in the United States.  From 2009-2013, he served as Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

    He is married to Rhoda and has five children​.
