Summit Series: Public Funding Options During & WDC Innovation Summit Series: Public Funding Options During & After the Pandemic

Replay of the popular Wharton DC Innovation Summit session on current & future funding options. Wharton Club Members, guests, public invited

"This is not the last time this will happen." - Ed Albrigo, President and CEO, the Center of Innovative Technology (CIT)

  • Some startups and early stage businesses can get needed funds from angels, VCs, crowdfunding, or sources discussed in the “Future of Private Funding” session. Yet, many entrepreneurs need to consider options such as self-funding, friends and family, government programs (e.g., SBIRs, contracts), bank loans, and federal, state and local tax and similar incentives.

  • This session leverages inside views of an evolving Small Business Administration, the changing federal contracting process, and VC expectations to help businesses understand their public funding options, sources and costs of capital among these options, and what they need to know about applying.
  • The session also contains insights on enhancing business models to be more enticing to funders in the Covid era, particularly as more disruptions may be inevitable.
