Annela Flores, Board Certified Music Therapist and Registered Yoga Teacher We All Have A Beat: How Music and Rhythm Connect Us All 6/20

She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Music Therapy from University of the Pacific, and completed her internship with MusicWorx Inc. and has been a board-certified music therapist for 6 years. Wharton Club members and guests are invited.

Annela Flores is profile-pica Board Certified Music Therapist and Registered Yoga Teacher in San Diego, California. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Music Therapy from University of the Pacific, and completed her internship with MusicWorx Inc. and has been a board-certified music therapist for 6 years.

 

Upon the completion of her bachelor’s degree at University of the Pacific, Annela spent over a year in Andhra Pradesh, India working with Hope for People International as a teacher, administrator, and outreach coordinator. She initiated and managed music therapy services, teacher training, and medical outreach for the school and local community. 

 

Currently, Annela serves as Senior Program Director and Music Therapist for MusicWorx Inc. She specializes in adult populations, including inpatient medical settings, hospice/palliative care, Parkinson’s Disease, mental health, and older adult care. Annela has supervised over 30 interns in her five years at MusicWorx. 

 

Annela is passionate about equipping future music therapy leaders and supporting individuals through aging, trauma, and disease with a holistic mind-body approach. She strives to use her Top 5 Strengths of “Maximizing,” “Ideation,” “Positivity,” “Empathy,” and “Woo” to enhance individual potential and bring peace through music.
