Meet Laura Nicolini, a State Director of Best Buddies in Maryland 4/16

Laura has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit industry and has worked with organizations from the American Cancer Society to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Wharton Club members and guests are invited!

• Laura Nicolini is a State Director of Best Buddies in Maryland. Laura has a degree in Healthcare Administration from Kent State University and a National Certification in Nonprofit Human Service Management. Laura has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit industry and has worked with organizations from the American Cancer Society to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. For the past eight years, Laura has enjoyed working with Best Buddies and moving their mission of inclusion forward. Beyond work, Laura finds joy in staying active by working out and running. Laura also enjoys reading, and spending time with friends and family.
• Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society. 
• Founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver, Best Buddies is a vibrant organization that has grown from one original chapter to nearly 3,000 chapters worldwide, positively impacting the lives of over 1.3 million people with and without IDD. Best Buddies programs engage participants in each of the 50 states and in 45 countries around the world.
