One week from today—May 8, 2025—we gather to honor 80 years since Victory in Europe.

Join Friends of the National World War II Memorial at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial in Washington, DC for a powerful public ceremony honoring the end of World War II in Europe and the sacrifices that secured that victory.

Together with World War II veterans, U.S. military leaders, and representatives of Allied nations, we will lay wreaths at the Freedom Wall in solemn tribute to the more than 400,000 Americans who gave their lives—and to remember the over 60 million lives lost worldwide in the deadliest conflict in human history.

Know a WWII veteran? There’s still time to register them for special recognition at the ceremony. We would be honored to include them in this historic event. Please use the sign-up button below to register a WWII veteran.
