Mary Hadar talks about "Hiking the Appalachian Trail for 20 Years — and Still Not Finished" 4/7
Mary Hadar, an editor at The Washington Post for more than 40 years, started hiking the Appalachian Trail. Wharton Club members and guests are invited!

- Mary Hadar, an editor at The Washington Post for more than 40 years, started hiking the Appalachian Trail in sections 20 years ago and has so far covered 1700 miles (out of 2200).
- She goes twice a year, spring and fall, with her golden retriever, a changing cast of friends and no set mileage.
- An idle dream that started during lunchtime runs on the Mall has become a decades-long stress reliever for troubled times.
- The trail has its own culture and customs, and the people (in addition to the views) make it memorable.
