Bricks for the Blind (BFTB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making LEGO® building accessible to people with visual impairments. It provides free, text-based building instructions that work with screen readers and other assistive technologies, allowing blind individuals to independently build LEGO sets ranging from 100 to 4,000 pieces.
By transforming visual instructions into accessible text, BFTB helps blind builders experience the creativity, fun, relaxation, and educational value of LEGO. The instructions are developed through collaboration between sighted volunteers and blind testers to ensure clarity and usability.
BFTB's mission is simple: to bring the joy, independence, and empowerment of building LEGO sets to as many visually impaired people as possible.
