Eric Madison: "Tracks Through Time: Preserving the History of Washington's Trolleys" 11/10

Eric brings more than two decades of professional experience in public transportation, specializing in rail transit safety, operations, and oversight of heavy rail, light rail, and streetcar systems. Wharton Club members & guests are invited!

• Since 1998, Eric has been a volunteer streetcar operator with the National Capital Trolley Museum and has served the organization in a variety of leadership roles, including as a member of the Board of Trustees, Museum Secretary, Safety Officer, and Superintendent of Railway Operations.
• In May 2024, Eric became Executive Director of the trolley museum, where he leads the museum’s operations, strategic initiatives, educational programs, and long-term vision, including the development of the Transportation Discovery Campus initiative to expand the museum’s role as a center for transportation history, innovation, and hands-on learning.
• Eric brings more than two decades of professional experience in public transportation, specializing in rail transit safety, operations, and oversight of heavy rail, light rail, and streetcar systems.
• His career includes service with the District Department of Transportation, where he supported planning for the D.C. Streetcar project and managed safety oversight activities for the Washington Metrorail system; the Department of Defense, where he coordinated transportation operations supporting the Pentagon and Mark Center; and the Federal Transit Administration’s Office of Transit Safety and Oversight, where he provided technical support to State Safety Oversight programs nationwide.
• Prior to becoming Executive Director, Eric served as a Senior Consultant with Dovetail Consulting, supporting rail transit agencies and safety oversight organizations across the country.
